Erik a Week nerdift tv
Alrighty, time for some madness. This week prepare for the ball-smashing intensity that is NERDFIT TV The Game. This game is pure unadulterated awesome. There are guns, cripples, fat men, and giant monsters. This game spews manliness up, then chugs down a keg of beer and goes back to smashing shit.
As always, we will look at game play, graphics, and, of course, what the iconic Erik Ferris is doing in this particular game. Game play is quite fun. As an arcade game, at times it can try your patience as well as your wallet but is overall very enjoyable. The game is played with two joysticks, one for movement and the other for aiming. This was extremely innovative and has been ripped off by shooters of later years as an excellent control scheme. The general idea of the game is to make it from the first room to the boss room and collect as much booze money as humanly possible. Not surprisingly, at the end of each level the contestant who you play runs out of the studio to the liquor store and in a hilarious cinematic, buys an insane amount of alcohol, then stumbles back into the studio severely inebriated. The bosses are a key point of this game, from the giant terrifying angry face of Torey to a giant mechanized Supreet which nearly fills the screen, making this boss fight a war of quarters. But besides that, this game is very enjoyable.
This game looks… well not bad, all things considered. It’s from the 90′s and the women on the host’s arms are very well animated. The gunfire looks cool and the only real gripe I have is that enemies explode in clouds of blood… wait, that’s awesome, never mind. This game is good looking and there is never any slowdown despite some large enemies, and at times having about two hundred of them on screen.
The final and best part of the review: where is Erik in this game? He is the lovable host, but he seems more occupied with his arm candy than the game show at hand. He yells nonsensical things at the contestants, adding a sense of humor to this game and solidifying its place as one of the manliest games ever.
In closing this game is fun, and the lack of Erik as a playable character problem makes this game even better. So until next time this is tonberryx signing off.
